On 14th April 2024, Eco Research took part in “ReCYCLE – Reuse on the move“, organised by the Municipality of Bolzano, from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bolzano’s Piazza Tribunale. The square became the stage for various moments dedicated to proposals, initiatives and opportunities related to the theme of the event, i.e. re-use and a more careful and conscious use of everything that surrounds us. For the occasion, the city centre of Bolzano was closed to traffic, with a ban on all motor vehicles. The 40th edition of VIVICITTA’, the famous city run promoted by the UISP, which takes place simultaneously in dozens of Italian cities, also started from the Piazza Tribunale.
Numerous organisations and associations participated in the event: the Civic Library offered a ‘Book Market’, with the possibility of taking home a book and actively participating in a solidarity project (Agenda 2023). The ‘Cacciatori di Briciole’ (Crumb Hunters) presented their volunteer project to combat food waste. At the ‘Ciclofficina Mobile’ stand, it was possible to request minor repairs with the mechanics of the coop. Novum. In addition, it was possible to pick up and drop off various used objects thanks to the Municipality’s Environment Office, as is usually the case at the ‘Bulky Goods Festival’.
The ‘Hands’ association proposed its handmade carpets made on antique looms thanks to a re-employment project. The ‘Plastic Free Trentino Alto Adige’ association proposed the ‘Ecological Walk in the City’. SEAB was also present with a stand dedicated to Bolzano’s water and with information on differentiated waste collection, as well as the stand of ‘Rip the Page’, a book and newspaper recycling activity, with an art workshop organised by Daniela Colle-art therapist and artist, Cinthia Vieira and the ‘Lettera 7’ association. UISP Reggio Emilia proposed ancient games of the past: rings, demijohns, twister, hula-hope, gruyere, giant jenga, cardboard constructions, bouncing, delirium, bottles, horseshoes, cans, shangai, skittles, mini tennis, draughts, parachutes, carrom, ropes. There were also refreshment and food provided by the “Alpini” of the ANA association.
At its stand, ECO-RESEARCH provided advice, information and awareness-raising activities on plastics and their negative effects on the environment, with particular reference to the issue of micro- and nanoplastics.
