From 3 to 8 June 2024, the 72nd edition of the Trento Film Festival (a film festival dealing with mountain, exploration, mountaineering, mountain culture and the environment) took place, during which not only films, meetings and lectures on the theme of mountains were on offer, but also a series of activities dedicated to children and young people called T4Future – A school of nature. Some of the proposed events also took place in Bolzano.
On 6 June 2024, Eco Research took part in one of the science dissemination events organised as part of T4Future – At School with Nature in the Parco dei Cappuccini in Bolzano. In particular, Eco Research researchers and collaborators proposed a workshop entitled “The invisible challenge: let’s clean up the air”. The participants, mostly primary school children, were able to learn how to identify the pollutants that can be found in the air they breathe inside buildings (including in their own homes and classrooms), their effects on their health and the main sources of release of these pollutants, see in action one of the scientific instruments used to measure the substances in the air around us, but also learn about those daily actions and new habits that can make a big difference in improving air quality and preserving a healthy living environment.
The children participated with great interest and asked many questions, and particularly enjoyed the games and information materials created ad hoc by Eco Research on this specific topic.
